We’ve been working long and hard trying to train the robots to build themselves. I think we’ve finally mastered it.

YumBots are silicone cupcake molds to make your wimpy cupcakes look way cooler. Their heads even rotate. Buy some from Perpetual Kid and don’t forget that your favorite robot creators like cupcakes, too.
The best way to learn about robotics is to practice, practice, practice. Get started and learn to solder with this flashing LED robot kit from Maker SHED.
A few years ago, we sent a robot to Bluejacket-Flint Elementary so that the students could experience what we create first hand. Plyaq’s week-long visit led up to each of the kids making their own robot sculpture out of found materials.
This year, a Nerdbot named Sun was our representative at the school. He recently visited the elementary kids for a week of “bot-sitting.” After seeing what we make out of found objects, the class also embarked upon their own robot projects out of recycled goods, naming each and writing a personality to go along with it. Enjoy photos of these adorable bots over at our Flickr page.
