Paint the Town KC

Tuesday, August 24, 2010 @ 11:11 am

We’re excited that we were invited to be a part of Paint the Town, a benefit for Saint Luke’s Hospital Foundation. You can see us in action Saturday, September 25, creating our robots during the event. We’re joining several other fabulous artists, including the Quixotic aerialists who will be dangling high in the sky, Jennifer Bertrand from HGTV’s Design Star and numerous other local artists and sculptors.

The event will take place poolside starting at 6 p.m. at the InterContinental Hotel. Get your tickets now.

Nerdbots participating in robot exhibit

Monday, May 31, 2010 @ 8:13 pm

“The Art of the Robot” exhibit will be on display at the Mulvane Art Museum on the Washburn University campus in Topeka, Kansas. Several robot artists, including yours truly, will be on display June 19 through September 19. In addition to the robots in the exhibition, we also have several Nerdbots for sale in the gift shop.

If you’re in the neighborhood, stop by during museum hours Tuesdays from 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Wednesdays-Fridays from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 1-4 p.m. You can also join us for the opening reception Friday, July 2, from 5-8 p.m. Admission is free.

Check out photos from the reception at our flickr site.
Bring your little ones along and swing by the museum’s ArtLab in the basement for some fun (and free) hands-on art learning. Your aspiring artists can even complete their own robot projects. While you’re down there, be sure to say hello to the Nerdbot who now permanently resides in the ArtLab. We don’t want him to get lonely.

April open studios

Saturday, March 20, 2010 @ 8:32 pm

Mark your calendars for open studios at the Hobbs Building Friday, April 9, from 6-10 p.m. and Saturday, April 10, from 12-4 p.m. While there are several floors packed with great creativity, you’ll find us and our little metal guys on the 3rd floor in studio 304. Be warned: the bots don’t get company often so they are a little rusty on their social etiquette and conversation topics.

Check out our Facebook event for more information.
